Default Can I change the shape of a picture frame?

I'd like to create a picture frame with a shape other than a square/rectangle
(i.e. oval, octagon, ect.) so that a picture that is inserted in that frame
will take that shape. Is there a way to do this in Publisher? Any help would
be greatly appreciated!

You can draw a shape with the freeform tool in autoshapes. Your picture will not
take the shape of the frame, basically the picture will be inserted as a best
fit. However, if you select the picture, right-click, edit points...

Here's one way;

Creating Oval pictures in Publisher 2000 by Brian Kvalheim

1. Open Microsoft Publisher 2000
2. Go to Insert Picture New Drawing
3. On the bottom toolbar, go to AutoShapes Basic Shapes Oval
4. Draw an Oval in the drawing box that is shown
5. Right Click on the Oval and go to Format AutoShape
6. Color and Lines Tab Fill Color change to Fill Effects
7. In the Fill Effects dialog, go to the Picture Tab Select Picture
8. Click Ok Click Ok then click anywhere in the background of your
publication

===================================
Try this...select an AutoShape...left click/drag
the shape onto your project...right click the shape
and choose...
Format AutoShape / Colors and Lines tab /
Color drop window / Fill Effects / Picture tab /
Select Picture button / Browse to and select
the picture / OK / OK.

I would suggest using image editing software
for a project of this type. For example in MS
Digital Image 2006, you can create a cutout
in many different shapes and then apply a
choice of borders to the cutout.

If you would like to try the program, there's a
downloadable trial version.

Microsoft Digital Image Starter Edition 2006
is a downloadable 60 day trial version with
much of the functionality of MS Digital Image
Suite 2006.

Once your 60 day trial period has ended, the
program will de-feature to minimal functionality.

Unlike the retail version...the trial does not
have the ability to create VCDs and does
not support RAW files.

Starter Edition 2006

Be aware that it's a 109 MB download....
