using old normal.dot in word 2007
I've invested years in creating macors and styles in Word. I can load my
normal.dot into Word 2007 so I have my styles etc, but how do I make it the default template so that Word 2007 uses it? In the past I've just put it into the templates directory but this doesn't seem to work now. Thanks |

Use Templates and Addins...Organizer to copy the macros and styles into your new normal.dot file.
The new version of Word might have its normal.dot file in a different format, thus causing problems if you replace it with the old one. (this is assuming the new version has the same commands as prior versions) |

If you have trouble copying the styles and macros over manually, you can use
File Open to open your old normal.dot and then Save As normal.dotm in the same directory. (you'll probably have to overwrite your new one). I don't recommend it, as there are new settings in the new Normal that you might want. But the option is there if you need it.
