convert report to infopath form
I would like to convert an access report or form to an infopath form with all
the layout. I know it has to be done with XML-export and some transformations, but i do not know the single steps or how to transform... If anyone could please tell me the necessary steps? Thank you. Carsten |

Hello Carsten,
Based onmy scope, there is no official method to convert an access report to an infopath form directly because they have different presentation method. Usually you could use the XML file exported from the report as a data source or you could use Access as data source directly: When you design a form based on an existing XML document, Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 creates a data source based on the information in your .xml file. The more detailed your XML document is, the more detailed the resulting data source will be. 1. On the File menu, click Design a Form. 2. In the Design a Form task pane, click New from XML Document or Schema. Also, you may consider to develop your own programs to transform the XML file exported from Access to the XML file for inforpath form. However, it might be a little complex. Hello Peter,
that there is no direct/official way to convert and that it has to be done with XML-export i already wrote in starting this thread... But how? My problem are very many ready layouted reports, which has to be exported to infopath to fill out that inquiries manually. Especially the layout should be shown like before. I hope there is someone out there who has a concrete solution which might show me the required steps.
