Default pulling information from sql in visio2003

I'm planning a network diagram using visio to have our
entire office and all computer equipment. This will
feature our information about the device being listed in
the "Custom Properties" section and looks very good.

However I would like to, import these properties (asset
tags, Device name, etcetera) from a SQL database we keep
for as an asset database.

Does anyone know if this is possible in any way?

If this is possible, is it also possible to use the same
custom properties section as the front end for the
database and export them back out to the database.

Failing this is it possible to create a database of this
information within visio itself.

any help would be much appreciated.

It's possible, but will require a significant amount of software development
by somebody. It is not native to the product.
