clicking on a link in email causes a new IE window to open
Is there any way to get Outlook Express to open links in a new tab if I
already have internet explorer open instead of opening a new window. I find that when 2 versions of IE are open at the same time it can cause both to crash. I have IE8 set so that when I click on a link on a webpage, it opens in a new tab. Is there a way to get OE to do the same thing instead of ignoring the explorer that is already running? Thank you. |

There isn't any setting in OE to control this.
The function is controlled by the Windows File Associations, and the browser itself. See this article: OLEXP: How to Configure OE to Open Links in E-mail Messages in a New Browser Window http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=256953 You want to the reverse, so make sure that Use DDE IS checked. The DDE settings apply if the application (IE) is already open. -- Mike - http://TechHelp.Santovec.us "Forest Dreamer" wrote in message ...
