I have just set up a rule to delete all downloaded posts that are more than
14 days old. I have no problem in that I can see that this has happened but
I was expecting to see the deleted posts appear in the Recycle Bin.
Do they get wiped straight off the HD or am I missing something here?
Thanks for your time and trouble,
Mick.

No recycle bin in OE. But they don't go to Deleted Items either. They
just go.

After you are done, follow up by compacting your folders manually
while working *offline* and do it often.

FileWork Offline (or double click Working Online in the Status Bar).
FileFolderCompact all folders.

In ToolsOptionsMaintenance: Uncheck Compact messages in background
and leave it unchecked.

The rule must be unchecked and applied manually. Make certain you follow up
by compacting all folders whilst "working offline".
