Default What is "Microsoft Error Reporting"

I upgraded Office 2002 to Office 2003. Later, I was doing a routine Disk
Cleanup (Start All Programs Accessories System Tools Disk Cleanup)
and noticed it now includes this extra line item in the list:

[ ] Temporary Internet files
[ ] Microsoft Error Reporting Temporary Files 1KB -----
[ ] Recycle Bin
etc.

I'm not sure if this item was here or not, *before* the upgrade. Questions
are...which of the following are true:

a) I can check [x] "Microsoft Error Reporting..." and let Disk Cleanup erase
these files, they are just temporary junk anyway, like temp files

b) The upgrade put the "Office Setup Files" onto the hard drive, it wasn't
there before

What do most people do?

Thanks,
George

a) yes
Msft Error Reporting pops up whenever a program crashes unexpectedly and
attempts to send pertinent data to Msft to help them better there support
efforts. You can choose to send or not send the data each time. Those temp
files can safely be erased.

b) yes
I replied to your other post with more detailed info about the Office Setup
files.
