Default Visio Launches Installation of other Applications

Installed Visio 2007 with no issues. When launching Visio it starts loading,
then suddenly starts opening installation windows on just about every
application I've ever installed and then start launching every application.
This continues until there is no memory remaining and system errors with a
"no available member to launch application" message, then everything freezes
up.

I'm able to sometimes click and get a window to respond to "X" close. Then
the next, and next, and next until all are closed, about 200+ installation
and application windows.

At this point Visio is running normal. so is my PC.

I've uninstalled, rebooted, and installed visio. The same result as above.

Open the registry editor:
Look at path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\13.0\V isio\Application
and then check key "StartUpPath". Visio will run every executable file it can find under
this path. Make sure it isn't set to a very high level path.

.

This solved my problem spot on. I found the StartUpPath under
...\\Office\12.0\\... Played with this variable and the install issue followed
any path I entered. Thank you Paul !
