Disable automatic mailbox check when Outlook wasn't closed right?
Outlook often starts by telling me the program wasn't closed correctly, and
running a check for problems in my mailbox that takes 15 minutes or more. I always close Outlook correctly; sometimes the problem arises from logging in from different computers; sometimes it just happens when I shut down my PC at night and turn it back on in the morning. In any event, I can't do anything with my PC's settings (other than try to close Outlook properly, which I do) as it's a work PC and is centrally set up. In the 100+ times Outlook has "checked my mailbox for problems," it has not found a problem. Does anyone know of a way to turn off this annoying feature?? Thanks! |

No, you cannot turn this off as clearly there is something wrong in your
configuration. When you close Outlook, does the outlook.exe process actually stop? My guess is that it doesn't or that it is terminated instead of closed properly which leads to getting these notifications. Which version of Outlook are we talking about here? Which mail account type are you using?
