Default Office, inserted pictures, and IE

When I insert pictures (metafiles) into excel, powerpoint, etc., the screen
needs to refresh the graphics a number of times (2-4) before I can go back to
using the application. Also happens when I move around the document,
scrolling, etc. Sometimes the refreshing continues indefinitely and I can't
get back to the application. I have found that if I close Internet Explorer
(IE) the indefinite refreshing will stop and I can get back into the
application. Is this a feature or a bug?

Thanks.

Pat.

Sounds like a problem with the video adapter and drivers. Consider
getting an updated driver from the manufacturer of your video card from
their web site. Do NOT try this from Windows Updates.

Updated both monitor drivers and graphics card drivers directly from the
manufactures and still have the same issue. Thanks anyway though.
