Default How can I open old files from office 2003 now I have office 2007?

I have hundreds of files on my pc which were created with office 2003 - both
word and publisher. About a week ago none of my files would open and I got
the message that my version was a demo version which was no longer supported
by microsoft and that I needed to buy another version. I have now bought
office 2007 and still none of my files will open!! Can anyone help? I am
really needing to open these files and was told once I installed office 2007
I would be able to do so. But nothing is working. Any help appreciated.
thanks.

Are these files on the same PC as originally created?
Office 2003 would have still been available unless you had damaged in some
way your Office 2003 installation.

You installed Office 2007, and presumably during the install the
installation offered to upgrade your old installation. Did you then activate
Office 2007?
Open eg Word, click the Office Orb Btn Word Options Resources Activate
MS Office
