Default SharePoint Designer 2007 Forms

This may be an extremely easy question for someone, but I recently purchased
SP Designer 2007 so I am just getting my feet wet. I created a web part page
for a list I created in my site so I could bring it in to Designer and create
a form. The reason I did this was so I had the flexibility of choosing which
fields could be seen and/or which fields I could make edit only based on my
audience. After I changed one particular column to a "List Form Field" so my
group can only edit that column, I realized that there was no way for them to
save their comments. How do I do this. How do I add a save feature for that
particular column so this form updates the original list?
