Hi,

On excel when you go to Tools Menu and choose Options.
Options window will be opened. If you choose Calculation
tab, on workbooks options you can tick "Update remote
reference" or take the tick out.

I've tried to take the tick out and saved the file and
opened it and the tick was back on. I have tried all sort
of things to take that tick off but didn't have any chance.

Does anyone know anyway of doing taking that tick off?

Thanks

..

It is an application-level setting, not a workbook-level setting.
It is therefore not saved with the workbook as far as I can tell.

I assume you know that "remote references" does not include "external
references" (ie links to other workbooks). Remote references are
typically DDE links to other applications.
