Text Missing in Print Preview or Printed Document with Word XP
Information is as follows:
Quarterly Report done in various versions of Word (2000 or XP). This report is reused every quarter with track changes "on" to show any changes to text. Styles are in place. Problem: One author has inserted text using track changes and Word 2000. For this user, text appears to be fine. It prints fine and looks correct in Print Preview. However... Other users who have Word XP are experiencing problems with this document. There is at least one paragraph that looks fine when looking at it in Normal or Page Layout View, but several lines of text end up missing (don't print nor show in print preview) when looking at the document. I've changed styles, changed the view, accepted track changes, deleted and pasted text back in, copied text to a text file and then pasted back in... and still...the text will not print. Another XP user experiences the same thing; however the Word 2000 user doesn't have a problem. I've had a similar problem with headings and table titles before, but the problem with them only showed up in my automatic TOC. I use tabs in the headings and titles, and the tab will make duplicate entries of the title in my TOC. I end of having to backspace over the tab to remove whatever code is stuck in the document...and then it seems to work. Sometimes it takes several tries, but eventually I figure a "way around" for it. But the text problem above is not one I can seem to figure out. Please help. Thank you. |

I assume you've already checked and made sure the text is not formatted as

We got it...
The author had accidentally hidden the text using CTRL + Shift + H. The Word 2000 user (also the author) had selected to include "hidden text" from the print menu. This is great!
