Conditional Formatting with Calculated Blank
I'm having problems with conditional formatting when I'm working with cells
that calculate to blank using "". My conditional format doesn't seem to consider the calculated "" to be truly blank. Here's the situation. (1) I have the following formula that calculates to blank in cell P132: =IF(VLOOKUP($E132,DataSubdept!$C:$AX,P$13,FALSE)=0 ,"",(VLOOKUP($E132,DataSubdept!$C:$AX,P$13,FALSE)) ) (2) Cell O132 is not blank (3) I have the following formatting condition in cell P132: =AND(ISBLANK(O132)=FALSE,ISBLANK(P132)=TRUE) While this condition seems to be true, it is being bypassed; it's format is not applied. Any ideas? Thanks very much |

Conditional Formatting with Calculated Blank
O132 and P132 aren't blank; they contain formulas. Try this for your P132
conditional formatting formula: =AND(LEN(O132)0,LEN(P$132)=0) Hope this helps, Hutch "BB Ivan" wrote: I'm having problems with conditional formatting when I'm working with cells that calculate to blank using "". Conditional Formatting with Calculated Blank
I see. So BLANK is about the state of the cell, not the result of the
formula... I also got the expected result from changing ISBLANK(O132) to O132="", etc. But your suggestion works well. Thanks "Tom Hutchins" wrote: O132 and P132 aren't blank; they contain formulas.
