Default Problem installing Office 2007 Standard upgrade

I first tried installing from my Office 2007 CD. When that did not work I
tried putting my key in on the Trial and that "of course" was wrong. I
successfully installed Home and Office 2007. I uninstalled the Activation
Assistant and all Microsoft programs except Home and Office and rebooted. I
tried again. no go. I tried just installing Outllok since I think that is
all I am missing. no go. Will now uninstall Home and Office, rebootk and
try again. I also wonder if this is a 64 bit issue.

Uninstall all Office versions shown in add/remove dialogue, including any
Activation Assistant, reboot the PC.
Then, and only if Office has completely been removed, install your version
from cd/dvd

Has anyone solved this problem. I got it trying to install Office 2007
Standard, not an upgrade. I have a brand new HP machine with 64 bit
Windows Vista. It came with Microsoft Works and a 60 day trial for
Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student. I tried using my key with the
trial but it rejected it.

You have to uninstall *all* versions of Office shown in add/remove,
including any Activation Assistant and BCM (MS Business Contact Manager)
then clear temp files & reboot.
Then check add/remove again and Program files to ensure MS Office has gone,
only then install your paid for version
If after uninstalling, any part of Office remains, there is a kb article for
manual removal, which must be done before installing any paid for version

Default Problem installing Office 2007 Standard upgrade

I still can not install Office 2007 Standard. I have done everything
suggested. I even did a 4 page procedure that walked me through every
place I might have Office stuff to remove including modifying the
registry. I did that very carefully and can still not install. I just
tried copying the whole install file to my hard drive and I get "Can not
read from source file or disk Stdrww type: cabinet file Size 141MB Date
Modified: 10/27/2006" Does anyone think I could have a bad install
disk? I can install Student and Home 2007 for now but I really need
Outlook. I know my first post said I was trying to install an upgrade
but that was an error. I bought Office Standard 2007. I have spent 3
days on this and I can't afford any more time. Thanks for any help.
