Publisher 2000 will not work after upgrade from ME to XP
I upgraded from ME to XP and for some reason Publisher 2000 shows an error now after I load a file. It wants to know if I want to report it to MS or not, then loses the program all together- a blank screen. HELP!

Just curious, did you do a reformat and a clean install or just upgrade what
you had? -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Barrilleaux" wrote in message ... I upgraded from ME to XP and for some reason Publisher 2000 shows an error now after I load a file. Have you updated your drivers? Publisher is critical about printer drivers. Try
opening Publisher in safe mode, if it opens go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for XP drivers. I simply did an upgrade of XP. I did not know I could or should do a clean install or reformat, and would not know how to do either anyhow.

This may or may not be causing problems. When you change operating systems,
the cleanest way is to back up all of your work files, completely reformat your hard disk, and then start from scratch. The advantage is that you get rid of bits and snips of other programs you've added and deleted over time plus you can re-evaluate the work files you have. We are all guilty of creating files and hanging on to them LOOOOOOONG after we no longer need them. If you don't know how to do all of that, then you should either take the time to learn or pay someone to do it for you. Going rate is about US $79/hour. It's not that difficult - I've done it a couple of times now and I'm not a tech. (Having someone who's done it before by your side is always a good idea.) I hope you get your problems straightened out. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Barrilleaux" wrote in message ... I simply did an upgrade of XP.
