date format
any ideas as to why when I trim a date column I lose the
mm/dd/yy format. The cells go to excel date code. If I go to check the format in properties it tells me it is mm/dd/yy. I have to multiply by one or and than subtract 1 to "activate the format. |

TRIM is a Text Function.
Changes your date serial numbers to serial text. =TRIM(A1)*1 with the column formatted as Date will return a date. Why are you TRIMming a date column? Or do you have other data in the column also?
