Default why don't i get colour in my drop down menu

When creating a drop down menu in excel the colour fonts from my selection
lists are not transferred to my menu? can you help?

How have you created the drop down list? Is this Data Validation, a list or
combo box, from the Control Toolbox or the Forms Toolbar?

And since you say menu, do you really mean you have customized Excel's menu
system?

FYI - data validation lists will not display the format of the cells in the
list range. However, you could write a macro or use condtional formatting
depending on the number of colors you are using and your version of Excel.
However, the color will not show in the drop down list but it could show in
the cell after you pick an item.
