Why does my tab reset itself within a style?
Can someone please explain the mysterious resetting of a tab in styles? I am
working on a very large and complex technical document. All the headings/subheadings use automatic hierarchical numbering, and in each heading the number is left on the margin while the heading text is indented by a tab to 2cm. All my headings are controlled by styles, however one heading/style ignores my command for a 2cm tabstop and resets itself to 2.54. The style that mysteriously resets itself is based on another heading/style that happily stays where it is put. |

Make sure to define the tab stop in the *numbering options*; that way, it
should work properly. If you want detailed instructions, please tell us which version of Word you are using. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "AnnW" wrote in message ...
