I hope Mary I have your attention
Thankyou for your reply to my email of 13th last re create Master template. However I have been thinking that I simply will not give up on the first knock back. Your advice re TOC and Index problems doubtless are well foundered. But those aside. I have used Pub 2003/95 for some years to make Cmas flyers and are simply well pleased with it. WORD is a pain to me for anything beyond the mundane. I have every intention of using PUB to layout my memoir files. I have written them in WORD - 2003 - but there is where I hope things will greatly improve, layout being the key to my ambitions here. I am hoping that people like yourself can advise me. Do I need to make separate "Master" files in Pub, i.e. one for frontside, next maybe a TOC taken from WORD, acknowledgements etc, then another master for the body proper, i.e. a number of .DOC files as chapters, so on and so forth. Using different styles for different pages seems to be no problem for me, DO we use a lot of separate styles or can a "Master" be created in PUB with "sections" as in WORD be created/used? David |

Hello David,
I hope you can get your memoirs together with Publisher. There are some excellent training forums you can peruse that will get you on your way. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pu...247571033.aspx Demos too http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pu...sc=9&av=ZPB110 I have found the easiest way to get Word into Publisher without losing too much formatting is to create the text box first, right-click, click change text, click text file, browse to the Word file. Take a look at the Design Gallery items, there are TOCs. Of course you will have to manually fill in the information. I don't mean to put you off doing your project in Publisher, if you are keen to do it, we are here to help. Doing a memoir isn't as easy as doing Christmas flyers. -- Mary Sauer http://msauer.mvps.org/ "David" wrote in message ...
