Default visio viewer cant open in IE8 on Win7

I cannot open a .vsd file that others can open with full Visio. I have Visio
Viewer 2007 with SP2 and KB973709 viewer security update. Running IE8 and
Win7 pro. When I attempt to open the vsd, I receive the warning bar for
ActiveX, which I click to Allow Blocked Content. Then I get a popup
confirmation - am I sure, which I click Yes. Then I receive another popup
with the mesage "The file you are trying to open was created in an
unsupported version of Microsoft Office Visio. For a list of supported
versions, see the Viewer Help".

I've got another vsd of MS2002 version I believe, and it opens fine in the
viewer.

What version of Visio was used to create the file which does not open on your
computer?
