return maximum y and x value
Since XL only plots what's in the worksheet, wouldn't the max/min
values you seek be in the worksheet? Use the MIN and MAX worksheet functions to get the results you need. -- Regards, Tushar Mehta, MS MVP -- Excel www.tushar-mehta.com Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA add-ins, tutorials Custom MS Office productivity solutions In article , says... :Hi I put together a spreadsheet to plot x and y coordinates to produce a sine like curve in a chart. Is there a way to return the maximum x and y values from the curve? Much appreciated. return maximum y and x value
Thanks but the data points plotted are not the maximum y value, but 3 to
5 points on the curve. If it could return the maximum y value and the x value at which the maximum y value occurs it would be much easier and faster than trying to read the points off the graph (not to mention eliminating human error). This would actually make the chart work for me instead of just displaying data. Didn't we do this in 5th grade? thanks again B ------------------------------------------------ ~~ Message posted from http://www.ExcelTip.com/ ~~ View and post usenet messages directly from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

I vaguely remember participating in a similar discussion. It really
would help if you'd quote the previous discussion.
