Secondary Y Axis in Ms.Excel
I am trying to make a graph in Ms.Excel which has a secondary axis.
Basically this is an example of the data I have: Primary Y axis(Left) Secondary Y axis(Right) Abundance(1000/m2) Biomass(g/m2) 100 200 200 500 ... ... Both these data series have to be plotted against the same X axis. How do I do it? I already saw Excel's help and all it says: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plot a data series along a secondary value axis in a 2-D chart When the range of values for different data series in a 2-D chart varies widely, or when you have mixed types of data (such as price and volume), you can plot one or more data series on a secondary value (y) axis. The scale of the secondary axis reflects the values for the associated series. Click the data series you want to plot along a secondary value axis. On the Format menu, click Selected Data Series, and then click the Axis tab. Click Secondary axis. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now my problem is that when select any Format menu there isnt an option called as 'Selected Data Series' so I cant proceed? If this info is helpful in anyway then my sys is running WinME, Ms.Office 2000 Premium Edition. I have tried to make this same graph in Ms.Word 2000(Ms.Graph 2000) Any help would be very much appreciated. Basix |

Secondary Y Axis in Ms.Excel
Hi,
1) Make the chart in the usual way - the two data series will use the same y-axis for now 2) On the chart, right click the data series you want to use secondary axis; from popup menu select Format Axis; open the Axis tab 3) click in the Secondary Axis option box Your chart should now be as required. Come back if any problems. Bernard "Basix" wrote in message m... I am trying to make a graph in Ms.Excel which has a secondary axis.
