Upgrade Installation Instructions
I am upgrading my OS to WinXP Professional with a clean install, and trying to change my Office 2000 Premium Edition to Office XP Professional Edition. Which one do I buy ... the FULL VERSION or UPGRADE VERSION?
If I buy the UPGRADE VERSION, do I have to have the OFFICE 2000 installed so the upgrade could be implemented? .... or just install the UPGRADE VERSION and use the License Key when looking for the old version? - Thanks |

Upgrade Installation Instructions
Hi Gary
Get the upgrade version of XP. You don't have to install Office 2000 first. At a point early in the XP installation, it will put up a dialog box saying it didn't find a qualifying version and please insert the previous version's disk. Pop the Office 2000 CD into the drive and let the installer read it. Then it will ask to have the XP disk back, and will continue. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org GaryF wrote: I am upgrading my OS to WinXP Professional with a clean install, and trying to change my Office 2000 Premium Edition to Office XP Professional Edition.
