Having problems with RD field.....
I'm creating a large book and have the chapters separated into their own
documents. I learned yesterday how to create a table of contents for all the documents using the RD fields. It worked great yesterday except for the page number, which I found a macro code for. I tested the macro and RD fields on my home machine last night, which is running Office XP. Now here at work today, on my Office 2003, I can't get it to work. I can't even type in the RD field. When doing the Alt/F9, I get the field brackets, and I begin typing R and then D, then it disappears!!!! Can anyone tell me what's going on? I really need to get this working! Thanks! Having problems with RD field.....
To keep the field displayed while you're working with it, click on the
pilcrow symbol (ie the one that looks like a backwards P) on the toolbar. Alternatively, use Tools|options|View and check the 'hidden text' or 'All' options. RD fields automatically set themselves to hidden and so don't display when hidden text isn't displayed. Cheers --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |
