Default Word 2003, can't see pasted Images

Got a new laptop, and now I can't see any jpegs or other graphic I
copy/paste from the clipboard. My old laptop with word 2003, had no
problem doing this.

I work in print layout mode. Under my VIEW, Print And WebLayout
Option all boxes are checked.

What am I missing?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View tab | uncheck the
"Picture placeholders box and check the "Drawings" box | Print
tab | check the "Drawing objects" box | OK.
