Read-Only mode not working correctly
Hello,
I tried to make a shortcut with /ro set. When I open the mdb with the shortcut I get the read-only warning, but I can still make changes. Is this because I have write access to the folder? Shouldn't /ro overwrite permissions set on folders? |

Are you editing data in linked tables in a file you have write access to? Or
are you making changes inside the current db you expected to open ro? Chris Microsoft MVP martinmike2 wrote: I tried to make a shortcut with /ro set. Read-Only mode not working correctly
Chris,
I am editing data in a linked-table I have write access to. Is there a way to have the shortcut open the DB in such a way as to make the BE read only as well? |

Sorry, no the command line switches only apply the db file being opened.
You'd need to change the os permissions on the back end file folder before opening the front end file as ro. ok, not a problem, it will not affect the distribution of the system.
