Default Making changes in Outlook folders

I changed ISP to MSN and cancelled previous ISP

1. How do I get email delivered to former personal folders (inbox) and not
to the new MSN folder (inbox)? I don't want different inboxes.

2. How do I get the "unread mail" to show the new MSN email, not just the
former personal folder email?

1) Tools | Email Accounts. When you go into the dialog to modify email
accounts, you'll see a drop-down list for setting the default delivery
store.

2) Not possible. Search folders work only within a single store.

1. I did change the defailt from the drop down list, but it still goes to the
new msn folders

2. So if I cannot change the inbox, how do I get the new msn inbox to have
an unread folder in favorites?

1) You need to restart Outlook for that change to take effect. MSN mail will
still be delivered to the MSN account's Inbox (that's the way the MSN
service works -- it's a cache of your online mailbox, not like a POP account
that downloads mail to Outlook and removes it from the server) but other
accounts should deliver to your Personal Folders file Inbox.

2) Display the Folder List. Under the MSN account, under Search Folders,
right-click the Unread Mail search folder and choose Add to Favorite
Folders.

Thank you. I don't understand the two sets of folders (the original personal
set and the new MSN set.)

1. What do I do with two sets of tasks, notes, contacts? I prefer to have
one set, but I do not know how to move them from one folder to the next. I
tried moving them within outlook, but an error message said it cannot move
them.

2. Can I move all my former folder content to the MSN set then delete the
former? Or do I need to keep my original personal folders plus the MSN set.

3. How do I direct my PDA to the correct set of folders? I tried to sync
it but it got confused and has duplicated some items more than once, and it
lost the names of about 50 contacts in the MSN contact folder and in my PDA.

4. I see you are an author on Outlook. I am not a programmer, nor do I want
to understand all the capabilities of Outlook. I just want to understand the
folder organization enough to set them up properly and sync them with my pda
wthout losing data. Can you recommend a book that would address these issues?

Thanks

Try moving them one at a time. If you have a problem, give the exact text of
the error message.

I don't hink you'll need to keep the Personal Folders file if you make the
MSN folders the default information store.

3. How do I direct my PDA to the correct set of folders? I tried to sync
it but it got confused and has duplicated some items more than once, and

Consult the documentation for your PDA's synchronization software. Most PDA
sync tools connect with the folders in the default information store.

See http://www.slipstick.com/books/user.htm for available Outlook books.

Thanks
