Default Graphics to Word issue

(Word 2003, Visio 2003)

For the last several weeks I've been working on creating an electronic
version of a paper manual in Word. One of the sections contains
interconnection diagrams for an elecrtical subsystem. I have most of my
diagrams completed however when it comes time to put them in the Word file
I'm running into a problem.

A little background info first. The diagrams are created in a landscape 11 x
17 space. The Word document is, of course, 8½ x 11, portrait. I want to
leave the Word pages oriented as they are so this means rotating the image.
Not everyone here has Visio so I need to export the image as a graphic.
Because of the size difference every format I've tried produces a fuzzy
print. I've done a save as all of the available graphics formats but I still
get fuzz.

I don't have any graphics editors here at work and I'm "not supposed" to
install any other software on this computer. I keep running into brick walls
with this. The only solution I can come up with is to take the file home and
use something that I have at home, assuming that will work.

Can anyone think of a way to export a Visio sheet in such a way that when I
reduce it, will still give me a crisp image?

joanne,
Copy/paste using one of the metafile formats. Binary images don't often play
nice (bmp, jpg, etc.). Regarding having visio at the office, the viewers are
often allowed and they are free.

They have things locked down pretty well here. Better than most other places
I've worked. I'm surprised I was able to download PrimoPDF. (Able but not
supposed to - and the boss has never asked me how I can create a .pdf file.
If he did, I'd tell him but until then...shhhhhhhhh.)

I tried .wmf, fuzzy. My system is stupid and has no clue what an .eps file
or an .emf file is. Maybe I'll take the file home with me and see what I can
do with the proper tools.

Thanks, Al. :-)
