resizing chart title box Excel 97
Hi tj,
Unfortunately you can not control the width or height of chart text elements such as Title, Axis titles and datalabels. You could insert a textbox into the chart if you really need to control the size. Simply select the chart and then begining typing the chart title when you press enter it should automatically create a textbox embedded in the chart. Cheers Andy tjtjjtjt wrote: Is it possible to directly edit the size of the box the chart title appears in an Excel 97 chart? For instance, click and drag the size of the title box the way I would the total size of the chart? tj -- Andy Pope, Microsoft MVP - Excel http://www.andypope.info |

If you select just the chart prior to printing, just the chart will
print. Any text boxes will not print if they are floating above the chart in the drawing layer. To put the text box into the chart, select the chart before adding it. In fact, you can select the chart and just start typing, and Excel will insert a textbox in the chart with the text you're typing. Select the chart, press the = key and click in a cell, and the text in the textbox will be linked to the cell. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services http://PeltierTech.com/Excel/Charts/ _______ tjtjjtjt wrote: Thanks, Andy. The text box idea doesn't seem to work for me all the time. I'll have to experiment a bit. It seems that the text box will not print with a chart that's an object on a sheet with a data table if you decide to print only the chart, even if I change the order of the objects so that the text box is on top. Ah well. tj |
