Default Installing offce 97 on windows XP

Hi

I am trying to install office 97 on a windows xp system. I keep gettting an
error message c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt.The system file is not suitable
for running MS-DOSand microsoft windows applications. choose close to
terminate application. if somebody could give a step by step guide I would be
grateful

I would be interested in others' solutions (as I'm not really happy with
mine but it's quick and works), but here is mine. I got the Autoexec.nt
and Config.nt from a "good machine and copied it into the
C:\windows\system32 directory

I don't know what is causing the problem, but I thin these two files
have something to di with the 16 bit subsystem.

Anyway, I'm not happy with the result, but it works. I, too, would love
to hear other solutions
