Default Word 2003 and EndNote

I use Word 2003. I also use the bibliographic program EndNote 6 with
it. I've noticed recently that when I have them both open (which I
need to if I'm using EndNote to make citationxs in a Word doc), Word
freezes and then crashes. Perhaps this is just a coincidence and there
is a glitch of some sort in Word. I'd appreciate any help that you can
give:
1) Is this a problem with the Word 2003/EndNote 6 combination? If so,
how can I fix it?
2) Is the EndNote piece just coincidental and there is instead
something going wrong with Word itself? if so, how can I fix this?
Thanks!
Dave

There is a known issue with Endnote 6 and Word XP that may apply to Word
2003 too. See http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/enfaq5.asp.

Thanks! I'm upgrading to EndNote 7 -- so according to the article that
you cited the problem should be fixed then.
