"non-commercial use" in Office Standard Edition

Good morning,

I too did have the same problem, what you need to do is UNINSTALL all
microsoft office programs, and install you purchase office. The computer has
the preloaded office for trial and it is set up for home and student version,
it accept all product key that is why you must uninstall all office. To be
sure it is uninstall look for the office logo in the uninstall control panel.
I did this and it work on mine computer.

Hi Milly,

I have seen multiple posts from you - so I guess you are a bit into this
non-commercial use subject.
I do have Office Professional with the same problem (except in Access) -
even the about-screens show me that it is professional; but still that
annoying title bar.

....OK so I have to do a re-install (I seem to remember that I uninstalled
the trial though).

But now for the actual question:
I understand all documents and spreadsheets etc will be retained unharmed on
my PC. Does that also count for all my settings (especially the setting up of
12 mailboxes in Outlook) - Outlook, which by the way also does not have the
annoying titlebar...

You have been "Robbed". They sold you something they shouldn't have.
Complain to the manager of that shop and also make it absolutely clear
to him that you intend to report them to Microsoft and to the
Authorities for selling counterfeited software.

You have all the receipts to prove your case right?

I purchased the upgrade version of the standard office software. If I
uninstall the "home/student" version, then the upgrade will not install,
right? Is there any other way to have the program recognize that you have
upgraded from the student version to the full version so that it does not say
"for non-commercial use" at the top?

Uninstalling the home/student version fixed the problem for me. The computer
then started to use the Standard Office version that I had installed and it
no longer says for non-commercial use.

Just for future reference (as you have already fixed the non-commercial
use), you don't have to have the qualification program installed to install
an upgrade version. What you do when the upgrade product says it can't find
the qualifying product is insert the installation media for the qualifying
product and point the installation media to that disk. When the qualifying
product has been accepted you are then instructed to put the upgrade media
back in the drive (unless you happen to have two media drives with one media
in each drive.)
