Default Creating new messages - Outlook 2003 trial version

The "New" icon is grayed out as are other ways to initiate creating a new
message. My understanding of the trial upgrade was that it had full
functionality. Can anyone assist? Email accounts are set up and mail has
been received - just can't create new messages.

Thanks for the reply. I acitvated the program when it was installed. New
appts, contacts, options, customize, etc. are not available either. The only
option under activate is to convert to full product for the upgrade price.
I'm thinking that the trial is not full functionality as indicated. That
doesn't come until the upgrade is actually purchased. That's a little
misleading, wouldn't you say, to tell us that the trial gives full
functionality when it doesn't?

it should work for the 30 or 60 days as advertised. Did you install this
over an older version?

From MS when someone else reported problems:

"Is it possible that he has multiple Office 2003 products installed with
conflicting licensing states?

At any rate, he can reset the client License Activation by deleting the
OPA11.DAT file. Then he should be able to Activate the license. That file
is located in the 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\OFFICE\DATA' path."

Tried deleting the OPA11.DAT file and re-activating - still have the
functions grayed out. Yes, I did install the trial over Office 2000
Standard. Used the upgrade option on the download website.
