Default Increase default number of connection points for regular shapes

Is there some way to increase the default number of connection points that
appear arrayed around the perimeter of regular shapes like circles, squares,
rectangles and triangles or pretty much any shape with some degree of
symmetry? I'd like to be able to get far more connection points by default
than the few that typically appear when using the Basic Shapes stencil. I'd
rather not have to use the Connection Point Tool to selectively add
individual points as I both doubt that I'd be neat enough in terms of regular
spacing, nor would that approach be effeciently repeatable across a larger
number of instances of each shape in a complex diagram.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Not aware of any option to increase the number of default connection points.
You can take a basic shape, zoom in, place the added points as desired, and
then save to a new stencil. At least you only have to create the shape once.
