Default refresh shape properties macro

I am using Visio 2003 Standard with SP3. I've linked my visio worksheet to an
Excel table using the link to database wizard. I have several shapes in visio
with fields inserted containing the text which is linked from the excel
sheet.

The values in the Excel spreadsheet will change so I am wondering if there
is a way of creating a macro or vba to automatically update the shape
properties in Visio (rather than going through each one, right clicking and
selecting refresh shape properties). I have tried recording a macro to do
this, but nothing is recorded(!)

Any help would be much appreciated
