Connecting Shapes
I am creating a new org chart out of an existing one. I am trying to connect
some shapes with the connector tool and it is not working. I start at the superior shape and move to the subordinate shape and the connecting line does not appear. It is there while I have the mouse button held down, but once I release it, it disappears. Help! |

Connecting Shapes
It sounds like your trying to attach a subordinate to more than one manager,
use the dotted line instead of the connector. al "IlliniEric" wrote in message ... I am creating a new org chart out of an existing one. Connecting Shapes
No, I am trying two connect two "subordinates" to one "manager." I changed
the subordinates to 1-D and and then used the line tool and went from the inside of one shape to the inside of another shape. On the "manager" shape, it connected on the edge, but on the 'subordinate shape" the end point of the line was inside the shape. So, I had to play with it so that the line was connected to the exterior of each shape. Connecting Shapes
What exactly do you mean when you say "change the subordinates to 1-D"?
There are a few ways to connect a subordinate to a manager shape, you can simply drop the shape on top of the manager shape, use the connector from the stencil or use the connector from the toolbar. Note this is not the same as using the drawing tool and connecting a line to the object.
