Summing a value in footers from a header

I have a value that is being printed out in a header, not the detail,
and I want to sum it in a footer. How can I do this?

The control source is:

=[Planned]*-1

The name is PlannedRed.

Assuming "a header" is a group header and "a footer" is
either the next higher level group foote or the report
footer, you can use a running sum text box in the header and
then just reference that in the footer.
