Default "Reading Layout" registry key

I've read through most of the earlier related questions, and definitely know
how to "tools, options, allow reading...". I've created an admin install
point and am successfully modifying other portions of my Office 2003 installs
through the wizard created .mst process, but cannot get the Reading Layout
portion to stick. It has become essential that I kill it as it's really
messing with our rather extensive macro environment.

My real question though is, has no one found the registry key which actually
allows you to manually turn off reading layout?? There's got to be a way to
explicitly turn this "feature" off. I've run a number of registry
scanner/compare apps and can't nail it down.

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Hi Aaron,

Word uses a binary Data key that contains a host of settings that aren't separately accessible.

You should be able to 'test' for that view with the macros (check with the folks in the Word VBA newsgroups) or to use a macro to
not do anything when trying to switch to that view.
