"Please wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office 2007" Messa
I just installed Office Enterprise 2007 on a brand new laptop. It has not had
any version of Office on it before. Installation went fine -- No errors. However now every time I open any of the Office applications I get the Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2007 message. If I go to the actual .exe files and run one of them it comes up without the message. However if I go to the start menu or if I open a file in the application I get the message every time. I have uninstalled, run CCCleaner and re-installed. That didn't work I was going to run Windows Install Clean Up but the text file said "** NOTE: The Windows Installer Clean Up Utility should not be used to remove the 2007 Microsoft Office System installation information. ***" so I didn't try to run it. Any advice as to how to get rid of this message? |

No. I haven't seen a solution, and the posts on this go back to 2005. Did you manage to change your shortcuts so that you can at least open the programs without configuration? I'm hoping Windows 7 solves the problem. Or Office 2010! -- jajones20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jajones20's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/114067.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/1204687.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

"Please wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office 2007" Message
I was getting this error: window insatller preparing to insatll Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 As a workaround I created a shortcut on my desktop of the Microsoft Office executable files found in here C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 which fixed the error only for opening new office documents not for existing ones. To fix it completely I installed the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en hope this helps. -- Tris ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tris's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/121058.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/office-setup/1204687.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

"Please wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office 2007" Messa
I have a brand new laptop and it came with Microsoft Office 2007 Small
Business installed. I get this configuration error every time I open an office program. I've used Office 2007 on a previous computer with no problems. I've tried every solution I've found with no success. I don't understand why it needs to configure every time it's opened. I already have SP2 for Office and I still get the configuration on each
Office program start up. Any advice as to how to get rid of this message? Hi-- You can workaround it. It appears often for people who installed Office 2010 Beta. Simply go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14\word.exe (for example)rt. clickrun as admin. To turn this workaround into 3 simple clicks that take a few seconds, copy the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14 folder (but not the actual ..exe because that will not work) to your desktop and drag it to your Start Menu if you like and pin it there. Good luck, CH |
