Outlook XP 2002 running on Windows Vista!
If it doesn't work with Outllok XP2002, will it work with Outlook 2003 if
purchased alone? "Bill" wrote: I have a problem that everytime I start Outlook to check my email it pops up the enter network password box even though this was saved when setting up my email account. Worked fine when I was running Windows XP but now with Vista it pops this window up every time I start Outlook. As long as outlook is open and I have entered this it will work but as soon as I close it and restart it I have to put the code in again. Anybody have a solution? |

Office/Outlook 2003 and 2007 are fully supported on Windows Vista.

Brian,
Not a very good comparison...auto manufacturers are required by law to maintain a certain level of parts availability for the cars they produce. It's a lot easier to get an alternator for a 1967 Mustang than it is to get Microsoft to make their own products compatible with a version that's only 5 years old. No one is asking for a free upgrade, just that the older versions are compatible. What's being done is that Microsoft is just finding easier ways of forcing you to buy software you really don't need. "Brian Tillman" wrote: Bill wrote: I think I'm done buying Microsoft products. I'm tired of spending my hard earned money on products that I can't update. They are also bugged to death. Let me ask you: do you expect automobile manufacturers to give you free upgrades to older automobiles you've purchased when they make changes to their later lines? -- Brian Tillman |

No, Microsoft is not forcing you to buy software you really don't need.
Stick with your older operating system and the Office version you have purchased works just fine. If you *choose* to upgrade your OS, then you will need to consider whether to continue using an out of support version of software designed for your old system and put up with errors, or upgrade to a software package specifically designed to work with your new OS. See, your decision, no Microsoft gun pointing at your head. Check out what Apple did. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Outlook XP 2002 running on Windows Vista!
Bill,
I experienced the same issues with Office 2007 / Vista OS on Outlook. I did a couple things that resolved the issue. I had more than one email account listed in Outlook. I deleted one of them and recreated the same account and deleted the former. Leaving only the one account. Go to Tools in Outlook and click on Account Settings. You will see your email accounts listed. Hope this helps. I own a 10 year old honda and Honda has parts so that I can fix it when
broken. I'm sure that GM has parts to fix much older cars and the after market is there to help "Brian Tillman" wrote: Bill wrote: I think I'm done buying Microsoft products. You have to pay for those parts. They aren't free. I have no doubt that if you paid Microsoft enough, they'd fix the problem. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
