Default How do you insert a check box w/out field on word?

I am creating an application that will be made up of a lot of diffent tables.
I need to place check boxes in a few of the tables. I would like for a
check to appear when I click on it box. How do I do this?

Look here for a Word Add-in that will do what you want.

You can see how such a box operates in the Fax template that comes with
Word.
