Default PowerPoint and Excel (on the fly)

I have an excel-file on a server. This is linked to a slide in a
PowerPoint Presentation on a local PC. The PowerPoint is running
"perpetually", while the Excel file is opened and changed a few times
a day.

Is there way, without stopping the presentation to get the
presentation to reflect the actual content of the Excel sheet?
