Default cannot apply the default chart type to the selected data

I can no longer create any pivots charts. The error message I get is "Cannot
apply the default chart type to the selected data". How do I resolve this?
My data sources have not changed.

Thanks,

Pick a different chart type, aka change your default (at least temproarily).
For instance, you can't have an XY scatter chart be your default chart when
making PivotCharts.
