Default X-Axis Appearing in Plot Area

I've created a line graph with 3 different series - one of the series is
converted to columns. I have a Primary and a Secondary Y-axes. The plotted
values are relatively small - ranging from 2.00 down to -0.23 (negative).
The x-axis shows 4 points in time (Apr-09 / Oct-09 / Apr-10 / Oct-10).

The 4 labels on the x-axis appear fine - below the plot area. The problem
is that the x-axis itself appears IN the plot area - not below it. I
adjusted the alignment of the labels - hoping to get the axis to move below
the plot area - didn't work. I tried adjusting the values on each of the two
Y-axes - still no good - x-axis still appears in the plot area instead of
below it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike M.
