Automatic Update of links across 3 workbooks
First, here's the file structure
D:\timeshee\Redding Techs\Payroll Master Entry.xls (managers/accounting enter info here) D:\timeshee\Redding Techs\PRK\Payroll Master.xls (no manual input, both a source and recipient?) D:\timeshee\Redding Techs\PRK\10_04.xls (timesheet, manual entry only) Tech's enter their time on their timesheet. When you open the Payroll master it distills their day from Each Job - start/stop, to Morning - start/stop, lunch, Afternoon - start/stop, also odometer for travel pay, PTO requested, etc. They're supposed to open their Payroll Master to verify (which would also update the values) after entering their time, but generally they don't (which means it isn't updated...) Next the Managers open the Payroll Entry. It pulls pertinent data from the Payroll Master so they don't have to open each tech's Payroll Master one at a time and dig for the info. They then enter any additional time, and if their paperwork was in on time and correct. Those two values go back to the Payroll Master. Accounting also enters any PTO they get paid which goes back to the Payroll Master. Sorry for the long winded explaination, but I've created a monster with no easy explaination... As stated the values in the Payroll Master books generally doesn't get updated before the Managers open the Payroll Entry. I need (i'm guessing) a macro that will run on opening Payroll Entry and update the values in Payroll Master, then update the values in Payroll Entry. Am willing to email the workbooks to you... THANK YOU! |
