I can receive email but cannot send it.
Jeff:
I have been using aol as my isp and outlook 2003 for the past year. Now I can receive email via aol using outlook but cant send. I spoke with AOl and they say they have blocked port 25 to stop third party spamming. I need to be able to send email using outlook through aol, any suggestions? I get no response. It just times out. I've tried adding Outlook to my exceptions list, no luck. Has anyone figured out how to solve this problem? "Mike W." wrote: I've got the same problem. I can receive but cannot send emails from outlook. I can however send and receive emails when I access my email account off the net. Everthing was working just fine until three weeks ago. I tried system restore, I've contacted my ISP, and I just payed for help desk support with Dell. None of these have been successful. Any suggestions? Try disabling any anti-virus, etc. programs that might be scanning your outgoing mail. Make sure that any firewalls you have installed are allowing connections on port 25. -- Jeff Stephenson Outlook Development This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights |

I can receive email but cannot send it.
I am reading all the postings and it sounds like people are having the same
problem that I am. I have a new computer and Microsoft Office 2003. Nothing changed since yesterday but today I cannot send/receive email. I just get an error. My DSL connection is fine and I have spent 2 hours with tech support, all my setting are fine, I have done the recover/repair disk for Microsoft Office and it did not fix the problem. Has anyone found a solution? "James" wrote: I have the same problem, did you find a solution yet? -- Jim Erie, PA "pegasus" wrote: Yesterday I tried to send emails and I got an error message. I can receive email but cannot send it.
I have the same issue, nothing changed but my email just stopped sending - on
all networks that it previously worked on. The error message i get is as follows:- 'Michael Chamberlain' on 10/6/2005 12:55 PM 554 : Recipient address rejected: Relay access denied I spent 2 hours on the phone with my ISP yesterday & nothing has changed from their end. They are sure it is a computer problem. I am running Outlook 2003SP2 and have no problems until it just stopped sending three days ago. It has allowed me to respond to a select couple of emails but that is all. Pls help "Sara" wrote: I am reading all the postings and it sounds like people are having the same problem that I am. I can receive email but cannot send it.
Hi Jeff: I'm having the same problem. I deleted cookies and thereafter am
not able to get or send from Outlook. I am, however, able to use Netscape Email, which I do not like. I get the message that the server is not responding and also a POP3 message, yet I believe POP3 is what I'm using. I was using Outlook 2003. "Jeff Stephenson [MSFT]" wrote: ISPs always say it's not them... What version of Outlook do you have?
