specifying absolute position of a table?
Using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.
We have a Word document that has a few dozen wide tables. The document will be bound as a normal 8.5/11" technical report, so the wide tables start on a left page and continue across to the right page. We're using Word's tables, but we want to provide absolute positions for the vertical alignment of each table. For example, sometimes, we'll want the table on a right-hand page to start 2" from the top margin; other times, we'll want it to start 3" from the top. Is there a way to do this on a table-by-table basis? I was hoping that there would be a way to tell the table where to start after a given paragraph. I suppose I could play around with text boxes, but I'd rather not do that. Thanks for any help. Barbara |

Hi Barbara,
Insert an { ADVANCE \d # } field at the top of the page before each table, varying the # to get the table into the desired location. -- Please respond to the Newsgroup for the benefit of others who may be interested. Questions sent directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis. Hope this helps, Doug Robbins - Word MVP "Barbara White" wrote in message ... Using Word 2000 on Windows 2000.
