Default Access Crash

I can regularly crash Access in 3 simple steps:
(1) Run a pass through query against a DB2 database. DB2 requires a login
with userid and pasword.
(2) Wait 30 minutes (long enough for the DB2 mainframe session to expire).
(3) Run another pass-through query against the DB2 database. For some
reason, Access crashes instead of requesting another login.

I would like to avoid these crashes. A lame solution is to run a simple
pass-through query every 15 minutes to maintain the DB2 mainframe connection.
Can anyone help provide a real solution?

Thanks
